The massive turnout caused the promotional items designed with the newly created brand image to sell out.
More than 3,000 people followed yesterday in Riomaior the various activities scheduled by the Entroido de Cobres on the festival’s main day, in one of the years with the largest number of participants. The crowds exhausted the stocks in the food stalls and the Cobres Cultural Association ran out of the merchandising created for 2024. T-shirts, sweatshirts, magnets, bottles and badges are some of the promotional items designed with the new brand image of the Entroido de Cobres that were yesterday warmly received by the public.

After four days, the figures for the Entroido de Cobres reflect the intense work carried out by the Cobres Cultural Association and the Vilaboa Town Council to promote a festival that aspires to become the first carnival in the province of Pontevedra to be named a Festival of National Tourist Interest.
Its own website, a QR that makes it possible to follow the procession of madamas and galáns in their journey through the neighbourhoods, and social media profiles providing real-time information on daily activities aroused interest in this year’s Entroido de Cobres in the surrounding area.
More than 50,000 accounts reached on Facebook and Instagram as well as 1,500 impressions on X (Twitter) are just a sample of the following of this year’s programme, which also provided gastronomy and accommodation options for these four days of festivities. This is a line of work on which the Councillor for Economic Development, Carmen Gallego, wants to continue to work.
These figures are also the result of the constant work carried out by the Cobres Cultural Association, which has relied on the support and personal involvement of the families of the more than 70 madamas and galáns that constitute the dance couples. Over these four days, they have travelled more than 60 kilometres on foot, despite the bad weather: more than 32 hours walking to ensure that the Cobres dances reached every neighbourhood. Before the four-day festival began, the organisation did not spare time or effort preparing costumes, hats, rehearsals and intensive promotion, since the Entroido de Cobres takes part throughout the year in various meetings to highlight our intangible heritage. In fact, after a short break, the Entroido de Cobres will continue to engage in an outreach programme throughout the year.
