The Cultural Association of Cobres and the Vilaboa Council thank C. Tangana, Little Spain and RC Celta for their collaboration.
Cobres’ Entroido wrapped up its 2025 edition with the presentation of its official anthem, the Hymn of Cobres, which was watched by more than 3,000 attendees on large screens at the Riomaior venue during the biggest day of celebrations.
Inspired by the centenary anthem of RC Celta, the music video, presented by the Cultural Association of Cobres, is based on A oliveira dos cen anos, with permission from its author C. Tangana and his production company Little Spain. Both the Association and Vilaboa Council expressed their gratitude to them, as well as to RC Celta de Vigo.
Filmed in iconic locations across Vilaboa — such as As Sainas, Forno do Cal, Riomaior Park, and local mussel platforms (bateas) — the adapted lyrics reflect the community’s deep bond with its Entroido, described as “more than a feeling: it’s a way of life.” The lyrics speak to the year-round anticipation of the festival and the collective wish for the Tuesday of Entroido to never end.
The video is a heartfelt tribute to Cobres’ Entroido and is part of the shared effort between the Association and the Council to protect and promote this cultural heritage, a sentiment also extended to Antón Álvarez.
Directed by the Cultural Association of Cobres and produced by Peixe Globo Ideas and Álvaro Carballo, it features the collaboration of Galician musician Marcelo DoBode. Participants include madamas, galáns, veterans and members of Aires de Cobres. Special thanks go to María Esther Castro for allowing filming on her mussel platform, and to Pablo Castro (Nano Competición) for providing the festival’s emblematic car.
By the numbers
Over 3,000 people took part in the main day’s events, with food stalls selling out. The four-day celebration demonstrates the enormous effort of the Cultural Association of Cobres and Vilaboa Council to promote a festival that aspires to become the first Entroido in Pontevedra province to be declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest.
The 2025 edition reached national TV and radio audiences.
Key highlights included:
- Launch of the official website.
- A QR code for real-time tracking of the dance troupe.
- Active social media coverage.
Social media was essential, with over 80,000 accounts reached on Facebook and Instagram. The celebration also highlighted local gastronomy and accommodation, an area that Councillor Carmen Gallego is committed to developing further.
The success of the event was made possible thanks to the direct involvement of the families of over 70 madamas and galáns, who walked more than 60 km over the four days, dancing for more than 32 hours to reach every neighbourhood.

Months of preparation — costume making, rehearsals, and promotion — precede the celebration. Cobres’ Entroido continues its cultural outreach year-round and will next appear this Sunday in Cuntis.
