The Asociación Cultural Cobres, a non-profit organization with tax ID G36128296 and registered office at the Casa da Cultura de Riomaior, San Adrián de Cobres, 36142 Vilaboa (Pontevedra), announces a family craft competition titled “ENTROIDOS TRADICIONAIS”, as part of its 7th Entroido Gathering (VII Encontro de Entroidos), which will take place on July 12, 2025, with the collaboration of the Vilaboa Town Council (Concello de Vilaboa).
The following rules govern participation in the competition:
1. Participant requirements
- Must be students enrolled during the 2023–2024 school year in preschool, primary, or secondary education.
2. Theme of the works
The theme of the entries must be Traditional Entroidos.
All works must be original and unpublished.
Entries containing political, irreverent, obscene, xenophobic content, or any content that undermines human dignity will not be accepted.
3. Prizes
The contest offers the following prizes:
- 1st prize: €100 + cap
- 2nd prize: €50 + cap
- 3rd prize: €25 + set of socks and Entroido-themed magnets
- 4th prize: set of socks and Entroido-themed magnets
- 5th prize: set of socks and Entroido-themed magnets
Prizes will be awarded on July 12, during the VII Entroido Gathering.
4. How to participate
Participation is free, and the following steps must be completed:
- The craft piece must include on the back the full name of the child, the Entroido it refers to, and a contact phone number.
The craft may be created with the help of the family, using any technique that allows a replica of an element from a traditional Entroido, chosen from those celebrated in Spain, Portugal, or even other parts of the world.
5. Submission deadline
Crafts must be submitted at the Riomaior Library, between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, from July 7 to July 10.
6. Evaluation criteria
Works will be evaluated based on the following criteria (each scored from 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest):
- Relevance to the theme
- Originality
- Technical difficulty
- Use of recycled materials
The jury will consist of three members: two from the Asociación Cultural Cobres and one from the Vilaboa Town Council.
Winners will be announced during the VII Entroido Gathering, held under the Riomaior viaduct on July 12, and prizes will be handed out at that time.
7. Authorship and publicity
Crafts must be properly labeled with the author’s name, and all entries will be exhibited during the VII Entroido Gathering, so that attendees can view and appreciate the works.
Participants expressly authorize the Asociación Cultural Cobres to use their name and image, as well as their submitted works, for promotional and publicity purposes across any media or advertising materials.
8. Unexpected events and exceptional cases
The Asociación Cultural Cobres may declare the contest void if none of the entries meets the jury’s minimum quality standards in any category.
The Association also reserves the right to suspend, cancel, extend, shorten, or amend the contest in case of force majeure or other circumstances beyond its control, without the need to justify its decision and with no liability for compensation, always respecting participants’ acquired rights.
The Association also reserves the right to substitute any prize for another of similar value and characteristics. Prizes cannot be exchanged, altered, or compensated at the request of the winner(s).
9. Personal data protection
Any personal data required to participate in the competition will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 (General Data Protection Regulation), and with Organic Law 3/2018 of December 5 on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights (LOPDGDD).
The data will be collected solely for the purpose of inclusion in files owned by the Asociación Cultural Cobres, and processed exclusively for the purposes stated in these rules. Only the minimum necessary data will be collected to enable participation.
10. Acceptance of the rules
Participation in the contest implies full acceptance of these rules. The organization reserves the right to amend them in exceptional circumstances, as outlined in point 8.
