Entroido de Cobres recently took part in the prestigious Identidades Festival, held in Fonni, Sardinia (Italy), from August 2 to 4. This international event brings together traditional cultural expressions from across Europe.
This trip marks a historic milestone for the festival: it is the first time that Entroido de Cobres has travelled outside the Iberian Peninsula, taking its identity and tradition beyond Galicia and Spain.
The participation was made possible thanks to the invitation from the Associazione Urthos e Buttudos di Fonni, organizers of the event, and the coordination of the Asociación Cultural Cobres, who managed the logistics and representation of the Entroido.
The delegation included members of the Aires de Cobres band, as well as madamas and galáns from the parishes of San Adrián and Santa Cristina. Many of them personally contributed time and resources to make the trip possible, showing once again their strong commitment to their cultural heritage.

During the parade through the streets of Fonni, the group danced to the traditional rhythm of the Entroido, wearing their distinctive costumes with colorful hats and ribbons decorated with hand-sewn elements, and distributed information leaflets to help the audience learn more about the history, values, and uniqueness of this celebration — one of the few in Europe where participants do not wear masks.

Participation in the Identidades Festival represents an important step in the international projection of Entroido de Cobres, which is officially recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site and Tourist Festival of Interest in Galicia, and reinforces its role as a living symbol of Galician tradition.
This activity is co-funded by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra.
