Entroido de Cobres took part on 13 September 2025 in the Foliada Eferro held in Merza (Vila de Cruces), one of the most prestigious events celebrating Galician traditional music and culture. Its presence marked a key moment in the recognition of one of Galicia’s most unique and symbolic carnivals.

The Foliada Eferro is a flagship event on Galicia’s cultural calendar, designed to honour tradition bearers and the oral transmission of music, dance, and popular memory. Each edition pays tribute to an iconic figure from local heritage; in 2025, the festival honoured O Zoqueiro de Merza (1936–2023), a symbol of craftsmanship and rural identity.
Every year, Foliada features a traditional Galician carnival, and this edition’s surprise was the Entroido de Cobres. Madamas, galáns and musicians filled the venue with colour, music and energy, stunning the audience with their visual richness, symbolic dances and strong sense of living heritage.

One of the most memorable highlights was their surprise appearance during Treixadura’s concert, joining one of Galicia’s leading folk bands on stage for a powerful moment of cultural celebration.
For Entroido de Cobres, being part of Foliada Eferro 2025 was an honour and an exceptional opportunity to expand the reach of this tradition beyond Vilaboa and strengthen its role within Galicia’s intangible cultural heritage.
