On 23 February 2025, Entroido de Cobres had a memorable experience when it was invited by the Xenerais da Ulla to take part in the Entroido de Angrois, held in Santiago de Compostela. This celebration is part of the long-standing tradition of the Entroido dos Xenerais da Ulla, a centuries-old festival that travels through the parishes of the Ulla Valley and has been declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in Galicia for its cultural richness and unique character.
In the afternoon, the Xenerais, accompanied by comparsas, flag bearers and musicians, performed the atranque — a theatrical verbal duel where pairs satirically address local, political or festive topics from the year.
Entroido de Cobres joined this vibrant celebration, walking through the streets of Angrois and bringing colour, music and tradition to the festivities. The participation of Cobres was not only an opportunity to share its own unique heritage, but also to strengthen the ties between different expressions of traditional Galician carnival.
