The Morada brought Entroido de Cobres 2026 to a close with a day of celebration in Riomaior

March 17, 2026

Entroido de Cobres 2026 officially came to an end on Saturday, 14 March, with the celebration of the traditional Entroido Morada, a day of togetherness that brought participants, local residents and collaborators together in Riomaior to bid farewell to a historic edition of the festival.

The Morada, now firmly established as one of the most special events in the Entroido de Cobres calendar, once again served as a gathering point to share meals, memories and collectively celebrate the efforts of all those who make possible the continuity of the municipality’s most representative tradition.

The day began at 1:30 pm with a vermouth session, setting the tone for a festive and family atmosphere that continued from 2:30 pm with the traditional community lunch, where attendees enjoyed a menu including starters, roast meat with potatoes, drinks, dessert and coffee.

Throughout the afternoon, there was no shortage of live entertainment, while younger attendees enjoyed bouncy castles, turning Riomaior into an intergenerational meeting place where the spirit of Entroido remained alive beyond the official festival dates.

The Morada also provided an opportunity to share stories, remember the highlights of Entroido de Cobres 2026 and celebrate an edition marked by the record participation of 46 pairs of madamas and galáns, the premiere of the new piece “Riomaior”, resilience in the face of rain and the success of a programme that once again filled the parishes of Vilaboa with music, dance and tradition.

With this celebration, Entroido de Cobres officially closed a memorable edition, once again reaffirming the strength of a centuries-old festival that remains alive thanks to the commitment of local residents, the Cultural Association Cobres and everyone actively involved in preserving and passing on this unique tradition.
